Mubashar Hameed was appointed by the board of Karachi School of Business and Leadership as the Rector on 23 April 2020. In addition to his role as Rector KSBL, Mr. Hameed serves as CEO of Karachi Education Initiative (“KEI”).

Mr. Hameed, a result-driven senior executive carries 32 years of experience, primarily in the USA, working for Fortune 1000 companies where he accomplished aligning global organizations with a strategic vision to realize growth and profitability objectives. He holds strong track record of driving fast-paced enterprise transformation initiatives, building digital capabilities, and bringing technology into the mainstream of a company’s business model.

Prior to joining KSBL, Mr. Hameed served as the Chief Digital Officer at Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency where he led a complete business transformation including restructuring of the agency into a digital business. He provided strategic and operational leadership for customer experience, product development, customer service and information technology organizations.

Mr. Hameed began his career at GE where he progressed his career to the position of Chief Information Officer (“CIO”) across several divisions of General Electric including GE’s Security and Aero Energy in Texas, GE Capital in Connecticut and GE’s Aviation Division in Ohio. His leading role in managing these high growth businesses involved turnaround of breakthrough projects and leading Six Sigma, Digitization, E-Commerce and simplification initiatives.

As CIO at Moneygram International, a global money transfer company, Mr. Hameed led the transformation of the recently-acquired and long-neglected business into an organization delivering innovative products while lowering operating costs. At Fiserv, a Fortune 500 financial services company, Mr. Hameed led the initiatives that significantly increased the organizational delivery capabilities while simplifying a complex systems environment.

As an entrepreneur, he is the Founder & CEO of Caliber Vantage, the firm that offers career development and solutions to students, universities and organizations, to upgrade the workforce of the future.

Mr. Hameed holds MBA and BS in Electrical Engineering from Wichita State University, where he was inducted into the Eta Kappa Nu engineering honorary. He is a graduate of GE’s Management Development Program and is Six Sigma certified.
